This 16A to 13A adaptor lead is a simple, tidy way to power multiple 13A appliances from a 16A supply. It is ideal for control gear, small tools, chargers, laptops, network kit, and general light duty loads where you want the convenience of domestic sockets without dragging in another distribution board.
Built from proper components
We build these using reliable, industry standard parts rather than generic connectors. The 16A end uses a genuine PCE blue plug, and the 13A end uses a tough Masterplug 4-gang fused trailing socket with neon indicator, assembled with 1.5mm² three core cable to suit the duty.
Why 1.5mm² on this adaptor
This adaptor is designed around domestic 13A outlets, so the limiting factor is the socket load. Using 1.5mm² three core cable is the correct, practical choice for a compact adaptor lead like this, while keeping it flexible and easy to handle. If you need longer runs, we recommend running a 16A extension lead most of the distance, then using the adaptor at the end near the appliances.
Asset marking
Every lead is supplied with 12cm of clear heat shrink on both ends. It gives you a clean, durable area to add your asset ID, company name, barcode labels, colour bands, or inspection tags without it peeling off or looking scruffy over time.
Built and checked properly
We build these like working kit: bootlace ferrules for tidy terminations where appropriate, torque screwdrivers so terminations are tightened to the correct spec, and every lead is fully tested and PAT tested before it leaves us.
