Why there is no RCBO on this unit
We are often asked why this product does not include a 30 mA RCBO. In most compliant temporary power setups (including BS 7909 and BS 7671 practices), 16 amp single phase supplies are expected to be protected by a 30 mA RCD upstream. Adding another 30 mA device in this unit would typically put two RCDs in line, which is generally redundant and can introduce nuisance tripping or confusion. This unit is designed to be used with correct upstream protection.
IP rating note
With the socket covers closed and nothing plugged in, the 13 amp outlets are IP44. When plugs are inserted, the sockets are no longer IP44 (as with most 13 amp socket arrangements).
